[...] Everything else in the video is a gross distortion. If you’re not in PR, of course you don’t know who the invisible PR companies are. Before I worked in financial IT, I didn’t know who Warburgs were (they’re now UBS). I’m sure most people hadn’t even heard of Barings before Nick Leeson brought them to their knees single-handed. And these are companies that deal with money - your money. Not even your opinion - your money. Of course PR companies use sophisticated techniques. That’s because the audience is sophisticated. And PR=advertising? C’maaaaan. Everything’s blown out of the water when a web address is shown at the end: www.guerillanews.com. There’s your agenda. Now we know. Or we would do if the website existed. Like The Electric Banana, it doesn’t seem to exist any more. How much more invisible could you get? None. None more invisible. [...]

If I remember rightly I think someone posted a link to the Rootdown site at <a href="http://www.cookdandbombd.co.uk/" rel="nofollow">Cook'd and Bomb'd</a> (the internet's premier Chris Morris-hating Chris Morris fansite). I'll find you a link... <a href="http://chilled.cream.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=567057#567057" rel="nofollow">here you go</a>!

I really should get myself along to Root Down sometime, what with me living in Exeter and all...

[...] After somehow managing to post something useful earlier in the week, I’ve decided to prove that metaphorical lightning can indeed strike twice in the same place by making another useful post. This time, it’s about the eBay Auction Enhancer user script for the Greasemonkey extension for Firefox. This nifty little bit of JavaScript adds a countdown timer to eBay auction pages (as well as an in-place bid placer, although I tend not to use that so much). [...]

[...] Here’s the thing; while I’ve taped plenty of borrowed CDs in my time (not to mention spending countless teenage Sunday evenings listening to the Top 40 with my finger poised over the record button, ready to tape Sheriff Fatman or whatever), I’m not going to decry anyone who tells me that it might not have been entirely legal to do so or dismiss their opinion as “the-right-thing-as-defined-by-the-RIAA”.
